About Ariel Hsing

Ariel Yenhua Hsing is an American table tennis player who was born on November 29, 1995. She took part in the 2012 Summer Olympics.

In 2010, at age 15, Hsing became the youngest U.S. table tennis national champion in history. In 2011 and 2013, she won the title again. She is the first player from North America to win the Intercontinental Cup, which had players from Africa, Latin America, North America, and Oceania in 2012.

At the 2011 Pan American Games, she won a bronze medal in both women’s team tennis and women’s singles. Hsing won the North American Championships for women’s singles in 2013 and the North America Cup for women’s singles in 2011 and 2012.

Ariel Hsing’s career

Ariel Hsing is the rising star in women’s table tennis right now. She did a great job at London 2012, and the eventual winner, Li Xiaoxia of China, only beat her by 4-2 in the third round.

She’s only 16 years old! And she is from the United States, which isn’t known for its table tennis players.

2003

Ariel Hsing, who is 7 years old, starts to play table tennis.

The story goes that her parents went to practice at a nearby club and couldn’t find a babysitter one time, so they took her with them. That was her first experience with the sport, and after that she started to play and enjoy it.

The club was in California and was called the Palo Alto Table Tennis Club. It had great facilities and a great coach, whose name was Dennis Davis. The club was supported by Joola and had a good junior program that had helped many top US players get to where they are now.

2005

Ariel Hsing, who is 9 years old, starts to compete. She wins the national championships for girls under 10 in the US. This shows that she is the best in the country for her age group.

Later that year, one of Warren Buffett’s friends invites her to his 75th birthday party. Buffett liked the sport for a long time, and they thought he would enjoy playing with her. She gets to play a game with the investor and, of course, beats him. Her relationship with Warren Buffett and Bill Gates, who is a friend of Buffett’s, will last until London 2012.

2008

Ariel Hsing is now 12 years old and is starting to get taller. This video shows her playing Gao Jun in a match for fun during the US Olympic Qualifiers for Beijing 2008. It looks like she has gotten a lot better at the game in the last few years.

2012

Ariel Hsing is 16 years old, and the 2012 Olympics will be her first. The countdown has begun, and the video below shows how Ariel is getting ready for London 2012. She makes it through the process and joins Team USA. In the US, she is becoming more well-known and getting more attention.

2016

Ariel Hsing is retired from the international competition.

Hsing graduated in 2013 from San Jose’s Valley Christian High School. She went to Princeton University and was chosen to be the Class of 2017’s Social Chair. Hsing can communicate in English and Mandarin Chinese.
